Reliable monthly books, without managing the bookkeeping yourself.

For profitable service businesses that have outgrown late closes, unclear reports, and bookkeeping that still needs the owner's supervision. I maintain the books, review the monthly close, and give you a clear view of the business on one secure platform.

Monthly service typically ranges from $650 to $1,600. Not ready to change providers? Start with a $500 books review.

Your books may be getting done. That does not mean they are giving you confidence.

You may already have a bookkeeper or software in place. The problem is that the close is late, the reports raise more questions than they answer, or the current system still requires too much oversight.

  • -Your monthly reports arrive late or change after delivery
  • -You cannot get a clear answer about the balance sheet
  • -You are paying for software but still managing the workflow
  • -Your current bookkeeper records history but rarely flags what looks wrong
  • -The business has outgrown the system that got it here

Before

  • Chasing the monthly reports
  • Unsure what was reviewed
  • Paying for software you still manage
  • Questions scattered across email
  • Finding problems at tax time

After

  • A supervised in-house close
  • No client-paid QuickBooks subscription
  • Questions resolved in one portal
  • Downloadable, CPA-ready reports
  • Discrepancies raised before tax time

Why me

Precise work, personal care, and no judgment.

I'm Aya Hosch. I spent nearly ten years in corporate auditing before building a boutique bookkeeping firm for profitable owner-led service businesses.

I keep my roster small so the care stays personal. When you email me, I respond. When something looks off, I catch it. There is no scolding and no shame about what happened before we met. We simply get the books to a place that feels good to open again.

Common questions

Can you review books maintained by another bookkeeper?+

Yes. The Owner-Ready Books Review is a fixed-price $500 diagnostic for owners who want clarity before changing systems or providers. I review three recent months, examine reconciliations and balance-sheet support, document the issues worth correcting first, and recommend the right next step. This is a bookkeeping diagnostic, not an audit or assurance engagement.

Do I need a QuickBooks subscription?+

No. Your monthly books are maintained on The Zen Bookkeeper's secure platform, so you do not need to buy or manage a QuickBooks subscription. If your books already live in QuickBooks or another system, I review the file and handle the transition.

What do I actually get each month?+

Every month you receive a fully reconciled account, a profit and loss statement, and a balance sheet. These are plain-English reports you can actually read and use, not raw data dumps.

How much does bookkeeping cost?+

The Owner-Ready Books Review is $500. Most monthly engagements range from $650 to $1,600. Cleanup and transition projects are quoted separately after the books are reviewed.

Can you help with an S-corp transition?+

Yes. After your tax professional advises the election, I can clean up the books, coordinate the payroll workflow, and keep wages, distributions, and owner expenses organized. See the S-corp-ready service.

Do you work with clients outside Dallas?+

Yes. I am based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex but serve clients nationwide. All services are delivered remotely.

Prefer to see where you stand first? Take the free 2-minute self-audit.

I write about the money side of running a business.

No jargon and no lectures. Just the things I wish someone had explained to me before I had to figure them out on my own. I send it when I have something worth saying rather than on a schedule.

Your books can feel lighter than this.

Tell me what is happening with the books. I will review your answers before our 30-minute conversation and tell you honestly whether the service fits.

Most monthly engagements range from $650 to $1,600.
